Summer Travel Meets AI

I often combine summer fun with “summer school.” A little work along with play eases the guilt of time off.
That’s why the start of my summer travels included a couple of days at NY Tech Week. The number of "founders" is truly staggering, and everyone is (of course) buzzing about AI.
Human gatherings and experiences are here to stay. One young guy told me at a Tech Week party that he wishes he were old enough to have attended Woodstock. Humanity is definitely making a comeback as AI surges. This week, a PE firm bought an events company for close to $2B.
Travel and adventures will, thankfully, never be replicated by technology.
But here's how AI and other tech ARE affecting summer travel right now and can actually make your trip easier and more enjoyable.
PLANNING TIPS
Layla or Mindtrip. Plan and book in one conversation instead of toggling between a dozen tabs.
Search hyperlocally on Google. AI Overviews now synthesize neighborhood-level recommendations. “Best area for solo travelers in Lisbon in June” gets you a real answer, not a link dump.
Prompt your itinerary. “I’m traveling to [city] for [X days]. Avoid tourist traps, flag anything needing advance booking, and include one experience I couldn’t have planned myself.”
GADGETS
Timekettle W4 earbuds. Real-time translation in any language. No app-switching. Just talk.
Ubiquiti UniFi Travel Router. Log into hotel Wi-Fi once, and every device comes along. Built-in VPN. Around $79.
Nebula Capsule Projector. Turns any hotel room wall into a cinema. Streams directly from your platforms. Runs on its own battery for hours.
MEMORY CAPTURE
Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Capture photos and video hands-free while your phone stays in your pocket. They look like regular sunglasses. Post directly to Instagram from the frame.
Day One app. Prompts you to journal daily with location and weather auto-filled. AI summarizes your entries into a trip narrative when you’re home.
Ask your AI assistant to write your trip recap. Paste in your photo captions or voice notes and let it do the organizing.
CAN’T GET AWAY?
Summer is the best time to explore a new AI tool. Pick one you’ve been avoiding. Treat it like a destination. And if you want a guided tour of what AI can actually do for your business, you know where to find me.
Stay spicy,

P.S. I created a whole theme for my summer adventures. HOOha and the HOT BOTS. Read about it here. The agents work for me. Not the other way around.
P.P.S. Beulah (my AI agents) assisted with research and drafting (and the abs in the feature image). All detours are mine.
